In the spirit of Cyborg Love, two detached wooden hands are united via a gold leafed cable representing an arc of electricity. A gold ring chained to the mistresses’ fishnet glove closes the circuit between the two. A white feather perched on the tip of Her gloved finger is an homage to Nikolai Tesla’s one recorded love, a white dove. *

The visceral space between the wooden hands and the mechanical elements, recalls the fetishistic expression of Hans Bellmer’s  “The Machine-Guneress in a State of Grace.” Tesla, the inventor of the “alternating current,” was alive during the surrealist movement, and it has been said was using the other side of the brain to explore life through electricity.

* ”I had only to wish and call her and she would come flying to me. I Loved that pigeon as a man loves a woman, and she loved me. As long as I had her, there was a purpose to my life.”
